O, Terrible Angel
O, Terrible Angel is a collection of love poems written by Michael R. Burch for his wife Beth over a period of twenty years. He uses “terrible” in the sense of “inducing awe,” as a man might be awed by the vision of an angel. The poems explore love from a variety of angles, through moments of separation and doubt, to those of deepest and profoundest intimacy. What emerges is a complex weave of human emotions, gathered into tapestries, magic carpets, and warm, comfortable quilts.
